Following the educational curriculum and methods of renowned conservatories like the Julliard School, the Moscow State Conservatory, and National Conservatory of Music and Dance in Paris, the School of Music takes the advantage of its later appearance in music education. The School of Music adopts the intensive curriculum of the conservatories, which focuses on the practice and the mastery of the relevant music skills. Though most performance-based courses follow a private tutoring system, many open workshops offer both professors and students an opportunity to share their music experiences and expertise. To take a broad view of music and musical performance, ensemble plays are also emphasized. But in addition to performance skills, the School of Music expects its students to have a through and deep knowledge of their fields. This is why vocal music majors must learn to play the piano, composition majors must master two musical instruments, and musicology majors must be proficient in foreign languages as well as philosophy, literature, and history. With this effective and innovative curriculum, the School of Music has built a reputation for quality over the last ten years that allows it to attract many students. Every year, students of the School of Music win prizes in major international competitions, such as Viotti, Munich, Verdi, and Yehudi Menuhin. Although the School of Music is still a newborn compared to other world-renowned conservatories, it surely has started to make itself known to the public all over the world.
