| Department of Theatre Studies |
|
| The primary goal of the Department of Theatre Studies is to foster (1) creative critics with artistic insight
and sensitivity, (2) dramaturges with theory and practice, and (3) theatre managers with coordinative skills.
Students can choose either Theatre Studies or Theatre Management as their major. Theatre Studies students can
choose History of Drama, Theatre Criticism, or Dramaturgy as their minor. Students are highly encouraged to
participate in actual theatre performances so that they may integrate theories with real theatre productions.
Theatre Management students are trained to be performance producers, performance administrators, or theatre
managers. The educational programs of Theatre Management are divided into two parts: first, understanding
performing arts in general and second, practical trainings in theatre management. Students will approach to
the world of stage more practically through classes like 'Theatre Management Practice' and 'Field Workshop.' |
