| Department of Stage Design |
|
| Stage Design is a creative art that produces the most representational and dramatic space for theatre and
enriches the imaginative experiences of the audience. Since a theatrical stage has evolved into a place where
art and science are integrated together, the role of stage design is even more challenging than ever. To
meet this challenge, the Department of Stage Design endeavors to develop professional stage designers who
can combine liberal arts, performing arts, and the real society on stage. During the freshman and sophomore
years, students are trained to attain the basic and complex knowledge of stage theories. During the junior
and senior years, artistic researches and practices are more emphasized. On-stage representation of the
traditional Korean environment is also studied through several studio classes. |
