| Department of Acting |
|
| The educational goal of the Department of Acting is to cultivate intelligent and competent actors and
actresses with rich imaginations and creative interpretive skills. Through trainings in the Eastern and the
Western acting techniques as well as reading classes from Classics to modern experimental dramas, students
of the Department of Acting will formulate a distinctive acting style. During their freshmen and sophomore
years, students go through a physical and mental self-analysis. Students are also trained to understand
various characters in plays. Students can take classes on Oriental martial arts, traditional Korean dance, the
Linklater voice technique, and the Alexander movement. During their junior and senior years, students will take
experimental courses for the synthesis of Korean traditional acting styles and the Western acting
techniques. Courses on acting for the camera and advanced physical techniques are also included in the curriculum. |
