| The School of Dance offers three departments of professional dance
educations: performance, choreography, and dance studies, with a highly qualified faculty of 17 professors and
more than 40 part-time lectures. Not many dance institutions offer such a diverse and intensive curriculum or
structure with the mandate of producing thoroughly skilled dance professionals. In order to hone students'innate
talents to perfection, Students practice more than seven hours everyday. However, the education is not
strictly performance-based. Rather, the School of Dance emphasizes a comprehensive mastery of various techniques
while concurrently covering theories on musicality, score-reading, on-stage performance, choreography, and even
foreign languages. In October 1997, the School of Dance organized the KNUA Dance Company, and this is another
step to be a great dance institution of the world. |
