Department of Dance Performance
To foster professional dancers who will lead the future of dance, the Department of Dance Performance provides a specialized and systematic education on dance performance. Courses for a specific dance genre (Ballet, Contemporary dance, or Korean Traditional Dance) are divided into intermediate and advanced levels, considering the individual talent and experience of student. The development of a rhythmic sense into music is stressed to create physical movements of musicality. Physiological, anatomical, and psychological understanding of the human body is also emphasized because it is a way to understand the dynamic relationship between the body and arts of dance per se. Students of our department will sometimes join professional dance groups during their enrollments in order to attain an actual stage experience.
